Planet of the Apes (2001)
Movie

Role: Krull
Tim Burton, the guy who brought you many interesting movies such as The Nightmare Before Christmas and Sleepy Hollow, has created his own version of the Planet of the Apes movie. This time around the apes look amazingly realistic, and in some movie stills they look like they borrowed some of the costumes from Gladiator. ;) Cary plays the ape 'Krull.' I have trouble picking him out in the trailers, from all the makeup, but you can see him on the posters.
Notes: Hey, this movie was pretty good! And even people who aren't biased like myself have said that Cary was one of the, if not the, best things in the movie. His character was a wise, ex-soldier who is honor-bound to aid the female ape Ari (Helena) in her quest to help the humans. Originally pictured for the role of Attar, Krull was added into the movie so that they could have both Cary and Michael Clarke Duncan in the film.

My only question was the ending... everyone was probably expecting a surprise ending like the original film, but this ending was truly a surprise in that it had nothing to do with the film and made no sense! I gave up trying to reason with that one. Tim Burton must have just wanted to mess with everybody. :)
