March 2008 — Tekken: UPDATED: ‘Tekken’ shoot nears end, casting confirmed (by Albert Valentin) [Webmaster's note: Found this news about the casting of Tekken. The character names aren't quite right, but it's a start.]
TEKKEN, the long-awaited live-action adaptation of the Namco video game series completes principal photography in Shreveport, Louisiana at the end of this month. Under the direction of Dwight H. Little (RAPID FIRE), a cast of actors and martial arts experts are headlining the action film, which is due for release in early 2009.

November 2007 — Slaughter: Trio Gets Set for Slaughter - click for more Shawnee Smith, Erica Leerhsen and AnnaLynne McCord will star in the horror film Slaughter for Maverick Films, Angel Baby Entertainment and the Slamdance Film Festival.
Smith (Saw II and Saw III), Leerhsen (The Texas Chainsaw Massacre) and McCord (Day of the Dead) will play actresses unknowingly cast in a Japanese snuff film.

November 2007 — Slaughter: Shawnee Smith, Erica Leerhsen and AnnaLynne McCord Join Slaughter (BeyondHollywood.com) Victor Garcia’s feature is based on the script by 2007 Slamdance Horror Screenplay Competition winners Nathan Brookes and Bobby Lee Darby. Producing are Maverick's Mark Morgan, Guy Oseary and Cheri Wozniak, Angel Baby's Gregory Segal and John Andrew Gallagher and Slamdance's Peter Baxter.
Leerhsen replaces Dominique Swain, who dropped out of the project because of scheduling conflicts. The film is part of a three-year deal for Maverick, Angel Baby and Slamdance to finance and co-produce each ... »
WAIPAHU (KHNL) - He's acted in numerous Hollywood films and appears in the NBC hit show, "Heroes." But on this day, actor Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa took the time to speak to 200 inmates at Waiawa Correctional Facility.
He talked to inmates who are part of a long-term, drug treatment program called Kashbox. Twenty of them are graduating from the program.

Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa, who brought to life "Johnny Tsunami," the legendary Hawaiian surfer dude grandpa in the sleeper hit 1999 cable movie, takes his character to an even more unconventional level in the Friday-debuting "Johnny Kapahala: Back on Board." May 2007: Tagawa to host acting workshop at UH-Manoa (UH-Manoa) Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa, who played in "Memoirs of a Geisha" and "The Last Emperor," will host a workshop on acting at the University of Hawai'i at Manoa in June.
The workshop costs $300 and runs June 9 to 10, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. both days.
